Rose of Sharon is a century old Baptist Church bordering downtown Alexandria, Louisiana. Steeped in a rich Christian tradition, yet boldly moving into the future, its central focus is sharing the Word of God and Evangelism. Under the anointed, dynamic leadership of Rev. Larry D. Smith, a native of Alexandria, Rose of Sharon attempts to holistically address the needs of all believers by offering spiritual, educational and recreational opportunities through a variety of well planned ministries.

Our ministries range from developmental activities for tots to enrichment programs for seniors. Nursery services are provided by caring attendants. Our Children’s Church offers religious instructions for youth ages one (1) through seven (7). Although spiritually based, our youth programs also focus on academic achievement, enhanced by a token economy system. Musically, Rose of Sharon has been richly blessed with five (5) choirs. Our Music Department renders both traditional and contemporary Gospel Music and is one of the best in Central Louisiana. Where spiritual growth is concerned, Weekly Prayer Meeting, Bible Study and several adult auxiliary initiatives provide a Christian environment for those seeking a better understanding of the Word of God.
